10 free trees will go to those who join
Ten free white pine trees will be given to each person who joins The National Arbor Day Foundation during September, foundation officials said.
The free trees are part of the nonprofit foundation's Trees for America campaign.
"The white pines will add year-round beauty to your home and neighborhood," John Rosenow, the Foundation's president, said. "They are fast-growing landscape trees with soft needles and graceful branching."
The trees will be shipped post paid at the right time for planting between Oct. 15 and Dec. 10 with enclosed planting instructions. The 6-to-12-inch trees are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced free.
Members also receive a subscription to Arbor Day, the foundation's bi-monthly publication, and "The Tree Book," with information about tree planting and care.
To become a member of the Foundation and receive the free trees, send a $10 contribution to TEN FREE WHITE PINE TREES, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410 by Sept. 30.
