Paroled after 25 years
COLUMBUS -- Alonzo McCoy, convicted in the 1972 gangland-style murders of three Warren residents, is getting paroled.
On Tuesday the Ohio Parole Board voted to release McCoy, 58, on or about Nov. 17, after serving 25 years of a life sentence in state prison. McCoy is being held in the London Correctional Institution in central Ohio.
According to Vindicator files, McCoy was convicted in the Dec. 29, 1972, triple murders of Janet Kilgore and Joyce Hughley, both 19, and Clarence Williamson, 25. The shootings were connected to drug sales, and all three were found bound and gagged in Kilgore's basement on Second Street S.W., all shot in the head at least twice.
McCoy went to prison in September 1978; a more culpable co-defendant was released from prison in 1985, state records say.
