Last year: The United States overcame a 9-7 deficit to win at Interlachen in Minnesota, taking 8 1/2 points in the 12 singles matches for a 15 1/2-12 1/2 victory.
Last week: Australia's Karrie Webb won the John Q. Hammons Hotels Classic by nine strokes in Tulsa, Okla., her first LPGA Tour title in more than a year and the 29th of her career.
Notes: The tournament is being played in consecutive years as it shifts to odd-number years to avoid a conflict with the Ryder Cup, moved to even years after being postponed last year because of the terrorist attacks. ... The competition is named in honor of the late Karsten Solheim, the longtime LPGA Tour sponsor whose company makes Ping golf equipment. He died in 2000. ... Davies is the only woman to play in every Solheim Cup. ... Koch is 7-0-1 in two appearances in the event. She holed the winning putt in 2000 at Loch Lomond in Scotland. ... The 2005 matches will be played at Crooked Stick in Carmel, Ind.

John Deere Classic

Course: TPC at Deere Run (7,183 yards, par 71), Silvis, Ill.
Purse: $3.5 million. Winner's share: $630,000.
Television: ESPN (Thursday-Friday, 4-6 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 3-6 p.m.).
Last year: J.P. Hayes shot a course-record 61 in the second round and finished at 22-under 262, the lowest score in relation to par in tournament history. Robert Gamez was four strokes back.
Last week: Bob Tway won the Canadian Open to because the eighth 40-plus player to win this year, beating Brad Faxon with a bogey on the third hole of a playoff at Hamilton Golf and Country Club.
CHAMPIONS TOUR
Constellation Energy Classic
Schedule: Friday-Sunday.
Course: Hayfields Country Club (6,983 yards, par 72), Hunt Valley, Md.
Purse: $1.5 million. Winner's share: $225,000.
Television: The Golf Channel (Friday-Sunday, 1:30-4 p.m., 11:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m.).
Last year: J.C. Snead set a tour record for the longest gap between victories (6 years, 11 months, 7 days) and became the third-oldest senior winner (61 years, 8 months, 9 days).
Last week: Gil Morgan won the Kroger Classic for his 22nd senior title, beating longtime friend Doug Tewell by two strokes. Morgan also won the 1999 tournament,
PGA EUROPEAN TOUR
Lancome Trophy
Schedule: Thursday-Sunday.
Course: Saint Nom La Breteche Golf Club, France (6,903 yards, par 71).
Purse: $2 million. Winner's share: $332,670.
Television: The Golf Channel (Thursday-Saturday, 4-7 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m.-noon).
Last year: Germany's Alex Cejka won for the first time since 1995, beating Spain's Carlos Rodiles by two strokes. Cejka is skipping his title defense to play on the PGA Tour.
Last week: South Africa's Ernie Els won his sixth worldwide title of the year, taking the European Masters by six strokes in Switzerland.
