Trumbull commissioner's county car is stolen
WARREN -- A county car driven by Trumbull County Commissioner James Tsagaris was stolen out of his driveway this morning, Tsagaris told police.
Tsagaris said he may have left keys in the 2000 Chevy Impala after cleaning it out before the football game Monday evening between the Tampa Bay Bucaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
He said he was planning to turn it back in to the county this week in keeping with a change in policy to cut back on the use of county vehicles by employees.
"Thank God I took everything out of it," Tsagaris said.
Commissioners are asking about a dozen administrative employees to relinquish county cars that had been assigned for their full-time use.
The cars will be put in a pool, for use when workers have to go to on trips, Tsagaris said.
His cell phone was in the car when it was taken, he said.
Tsagaris lives on a private road. His driveway is behind the house, not generally accessible to pedestrians.
"I don't know how the hell they got back there," he said.
