Today, movers are going that extra mile
Did your last mover dust the furniture, put the glasses away or walk your dog? Well, maybe next time.
With fewer people moving because of job transfers (down 30 percent), moving companies are struggling with less business. So they are looking for ways to set themselves apart, the Wall Street Journal reports. The latest answer is concierge services.
The more extras, of course, the higher the cost. But some will provide moving consultants and even drop off unneeded items at Goodwill. One company, the Journal writes, offers a feng shui expert. A Texas service will stock your refrigerator with brie and wine. When the Journal tested some services, the White Glove Transportation Services in New York even folded clothes.
