HIGH AND MIGHTY: This circa-1915 elephant was part of a carousel at Waldameer Park in Erie, Pa. It is one of only four such figures known to exist. Carousel riders would climb up a set of stairs on the other side of the elephant and sit high in the basket atop the elephant's back.
