YOUNGSTOWN -- Judges at the American Heart Association's Edible Art Collection chose Station Square's Terrina ala Mediterranean and Tenderloin Chateaubriand as the top entry Sunday.
All dishes were created or modified to be lower in fat, cholesterol and sodium.
Timberlane's Barbecued Pork with Tequila Chili and Shrimp Gazpacho was runner-up; the Winner Institute of Arts and Science came in third with Spicy Moroccan Olives Roasted Peppers Antipasto, and Curried Shrimp and Onion Tagine with Saffron and Couscous.
The Pecan-Crusted Dijon Chicken and Fresh Fruit Trifle from Austinwoods Nursing Center won the people's choice award.
Tuscan feast with author
KENT -- Mary Ann Esposito, host of the PBS cooking series "Ciao Italia," will be the guest of honor at a dinner hosted by PBS 45 & amp; 49 at Alberini's Restaurant in Niles beginning at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8. Italian history and cuisine will meet in this evening of fine food and wine called "Una Notte a Toscano (One Night in Tuscany)."
Mary Ann Esposito selected a traditional Tuscan menu of recipes from her new cookbook, "Ciao Italia in Tuscany," for the chefs at Alberini's to prepare. Tickets, $55 per person, can be bought by calling PBS 45 & amp; 49 at (800) 554-4549.
