Pile of railroad ties burns
HILLSVILLE, Pa. -- The CSX Railroad in Mahoning Township was closed to rail traffic for about two hours Sunday as firefighters battled a fire.
About 300 railroad ties burned in a suspicious fire near Robinson's Crossing in Lawrence County, said Fire Chief Poncho Exposito.
The fire started around 5:45 a.m., and Union and Pulaski firefighters were called to assist.
Exposito said there are about 3,000 railroad ties piled in the area because railroad officials recently replaced ties along the tracks.
