PREP SOCCER Willis has six goals in 8-1 win



The Mooney junior enjoyed the highest-scoring game of his career.
SALEM -- Junior forward Kiki Willis had a career-high six goals as the Cardinal Mooney (6-0) boys soccer team defeated Salem, 8-1, Saturday to stretch its two-season winning streak to 23.
Willis, a junior forward, is averaging three goals per outing.
Senior Christo Frangopoulos and sophomore Kevin Miller had a goal apiece
Frangopoulos also had three assists while sophomore Zack Hernan and freshman Alecko Frangopoulos each aided in a goal. Freshman Dom DiPasquale and junior Noah Brak had an assist apiece.
Andrew Louden had Salem's goal.
Mooney goalkeeper Jeff Seddon stopped three of four Salem shots while Salem keeper Dom Gilbey turned back 12 Mooney attempts.
Poland 4, Warren JFK 0
CHAMPION -- Lenny Liguore scored two goals for the Bulldogs (3-1) while Dain Malaniak and P. J. Booth added one apiece.
The Bulldogs had 18 shots on goal, compared to five for the Eagles.
Canfield 4, Boardman 0
CANFIELD --Matt Pietro scored twice while Dave Piersante and Dan Freed-Pastor netted one for the Cardinals.
Earning assists were Pietro, Brent Hunsinger, Dave Piersante and Rob Kime.
Senior goalkeeper Karim El Raddaf made seven saves.
Mathews 5, LaBrae 3
VIENNA -- Senior Steve Graora's penalty kick midway through the second half snapped a 2-2 tie .
Other Mustangs scoring on penalty kicks were seniors Dan Graora and Brent McLaughlin.
Junior Drew Himes and senior Tyler Stanton also had a goal apiece for Mathews (2-3-1).
David Colarik, Blaine Peterson and Mike Colarik each had one goal for LaBrae.
LaBrae goalie Dan Dean had nine saves while Mustang goalies combined for 10 saves: freshman Brett Ford with six and Himes with four.
Louisville 6, United 1
LOUISVILLE -- United Local senior midfielder Ross Converse scored unassisted to tie the game, 1-1, before Louisville piled on five more goals for its fourth win in five games.
Louisville juniors Grant Lepley and Ricky Minster had two goals apiece while Jeremy Petros had another goal for the Leopards, who received a sixth goal when the ball deflected off of a United player.
For United (1-4), senior goalie Evan Egli had 15 saves while freshman Steve Windle had four saves.
Crestview 6, Lordstown 0
LORDSTOWN -- James Frost scored four goals and assisted on the Rebels' other two. Ken Wagenhouser scored twice and had two assists while Dennis Twaddle recorded two assists for Crestview (4-1-2).
Goalkeeper Lance Gillam recorded the shutout.
Lordstown dropped to 2-4-1.

Poland 4, Hubbard 0
HUBBARD -- Senior Krista Ginnetti scored twice as the Bulldogs jumped ahead 3-0 at the break.
Senior Britt Davis and junior Alyson Holsinger also scored for Poland (3-0-2).
Sarah Anderson, Julianne Noll and Ginnetti had assists.
Poland keeper Landry Yankle saved three Eagle kicks. Hubbard is 2-3.
Warren JFK 5, Canton Central Catholic 1
WARREN -- Senior Lauren Natale broke a 1-1 tie with a penalty kick early in the second half as Warren JFK (4-0-2) proceeded to score three more goals to finish off Canton Central Catholic (4-2).
Following Lauren Natale's go-ahead score were goals by sophomore Jenn Natale and a pair of points in the final 10 minutes by junior Sally Butcher. Assisting Jenn Natale's goal was Sarah Moffet while junior Katie Piacquadio and Lauren Natale assisted on Butcher's two.
First-half goals were by JFK senior Melissa Peterson and CCC's S. Olivieri on a penalty kick.
Assisting Peterson's goal was freshman Lauren Parisa. JFK goalie Aarika Knepp had five saves while CCC's Audra Smail stopped 13 shot. The Eagles outshot CCC, 19-7.
Liberty 7, Maplewood 2
LIBERTY -- Brittny Humphrey and Meghan Harshbarger each scored two goals for the Leopards (2-4). Amber Furlong add the other goal.
Amy Banner had two assists for the Leopards while Abby Markin and Kristi Sehon had one apiece.
Damaris Bliss and Teran Malvasia each had a goal for the Rockets.
Golkeeper Brianna Hideghad seven saves for Liberty.
Champion 8, Harding 1
WARREN -- Sophomore wing forward Brittany Bako had three goals while juniors Michelle Bafunno, Lindsay Haines, Carlie Dawson and Jenna Lee and senior Beth Dawson had one goal apiece for Champion (4-2).
Chrissy Georgiades scored for Harding.
Champion goalie Jessica Wood had six saves while Harding goalie Ashley Elder stopped 11 shots for the Raiders.
West Branch 2, Northwest 2
BELOIT -- West Branch's Paige Stryfeller scored a goal with 12 minutes remaining to tie it in a Northern Buckeye Conference game.
Lisa Bell scored the other goal for the Warriors (4-0-3, 1-0-1).
Northwest took a 2-0 lead in the first half Marissa Brown and Terry Faix each scored a goal.
Carlie Poffenberger, goalie for the Warriors, had six saves. Molly Frase made 25 saves for the Indians.
