Schools community can aid superintendent search



YOUNGSTOWN -- Members of the Youngstown city schools community are invited to participate in a search for a new schools superintendent during one of two community forums scheduled for Tuesday.
The school board seeks to replace Superintendent Benjamin L. McGee, who will retire at the end of this school year to pursue a doctoral degree.
Forums will be at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday in the main commons of the Choffin Career & amp; Technical Center, 200 E. Wood St. Available will be a Leadership Profile Assessment form that attendees can fill out to assist in the search process.
The board has hired the search firm of Hazard, Young, Attea & amp; Associates, Glenview, Ill., to assist. The company also will hold forums with various other groups, including teachers, parents and students, while it is in Youngstown. The firm is being paid $19,000 plus out-of-pocket expenses.
