VOLLEYBALL Harding cruises by Wilson; Ursuline pulls past Mooney



Boardman and Fitch lost Federal League matches.
WARREN -- Brittney Warren collected seven points and four kills to lead the Warren Harding High volleyball team to a 15-1, 15-13 win over Woodrow Wilson Thursday.
Amanda Pontastu added seven more points while Jaleena Davis had four kills for Warren (3-2).
Ursuline 15-15, Mooney 7-11
YOUNGSTOWN -- Alessandra Parry led the Irish (1-3) with 21 spikes and seven kills. Emily Herman had 14 points, with six aces.
Jenna York paced the Cardinals with six points. Patrina Morocco had a kill.
Mass. Perry 15-15, Boardman 9-5
MASSILLON -- Jaclyn Corroto led the Spartans (2-2, 0-3 Federal League) with 15 assists and six digs. April Melquist had five kills and five blocks.
Jessie Ehmer led the Panthers (3-0, 2-0) with seven kills and three blocks.
Canton McKinley 14-15-15,Fitch 16-6-9
AUSTINTOWN -- Jenn Drabison had eight points, nine kills 10 blocks and three digs for the Falcons (1-2). Jessica Evans had seven points, six kills, 13 digs and three aces. For McKinley, Brittany Abel had 12 points and Charlotte Shimko had 17 assists.
Salem 15-15, Struthers 2-3
STRUTHERS -- Lauren Teal had five kills, Jill Barry had 14 assists and Sarah Hamilton had five points for the Quakers (5-2, 3-1 Metro Athletic Conference). For the Wildcats (2-5, 0-3), Amanda Cavanaugh assisted three times and Jennifer McLaughlin had two blocks and three digs.
Alliance 15-15, Canfield 7-12
CANFIELD -- Stephanie Jarvis led Canfield (3-4, 1-3) with five blocks and five kills. Kelly Reese had six blocks and three aces while Stefanie Wise scored seven times for the Cards. Alliance is 5-1, 2-1.
Howland 15-15, Niles 11-8
NILES -- Brittany Kelly led the Tigers (6-0, 3-0 MAC) with 15 assists while Jaime Kelly added 10 kills. Casey Merritt scored nine points for Howland. For Niles (3-3, 0-3), Stacia Ray scored seven points and Shannon Floyd assisted eight times.

BERLIN CENTER -- Lacie Campbell led the Bluejays (3-1, 2-0 Inter-County league) with 12 kills, 10 points and three blocks. Rachel Karash had 10 points.
Katie Harmon led the Blue Devils (4-3, 2-3) with eight points, two aces, five kills, seven digs and 15 assists. Andrea Martin had five points, three kills and seven digs.
Springfield 15-15,Mineral Ridge 7-5
MINERAL RIDGE -- Clarisse Evans had eight points and two aces for Springfield (5-0, 3-0 ICL).
Carrie Davis had nine kills and four blocks for the Tigers, while Meghan Louttit had 30 assists. Heather Snyder had seven points and Lindsay Johnson six blocks.
For Mineral Ridge (1-3, 0-2), Robin Zimmerman had five points, two aces and five assists.
South Range 15-15, Mathews 4-3
VIENNA -- Jessica Toth and Allie Einseidel had six points each for South Range (5-2, 3-0 ICL). Toth also had four kills and three digs. Natalie Biastro had three kills and Kelly Skringer had 12 assists and four digs. Mathews (0-5, 0-4) got two points from Sophie Paddock and Amanda Sudon and two kills by Tara Ford.

LEAVITTSBURG -- Felicia Resatar led the Eagles (2-1, 2-1 Trumbull Athletic Conference) with 10 points and four aces. Tracie Hassell had three kills and six assists. Megan Oltmann had four kills. Danielle Nock had five blocks. Maddie D'Orio led the Vikings (0-5, 0-3) with four kills and four blocks. Stephanie Davis had five digs. Laura Bate had two assists. Stephanie Higgins scored the point.

GIRARD -- Heather Pegg had 12 kills and three blocks, Shannon Gardiner had eight points while Velda Morrison collected eight digs and an ace for the Flashes (3-2, 1-2 TAC).
For the Indians (2-3, 2-1), Courtney Madden led with 16 kills and five blocks while Kristen Ragozine added nine points, five aces and four blocks.
Liberty 15-15, Newton Falls 6-11
LIBERTY -- Mary Massaro led the Leopards (4-2, 2-1 TAC) with 11 points, five aces and 12 assists. Sunny Smallwood had four aces and six kills. Ami Markowitz had four kills. Molly Lenarcic paced the Tigers (1-3, 1-2) with 12 points, two aces and three kills.

BROOKFIELD -- Whitney Keyser picked up 10 kills and seven digs while Megan Taylor was in with six kills, 13 assists and seven digs for the Bulldogs (3-0, 3-0 TAC). Lindsay Whetzal had 11 digs and six kills for Lakeview. For the Warriors (4-3, 1-2), Laura Klouse had four kills and Jessica Zebroski had 15 digs.

COLUMBIANA -- Steph Smith had 10 points and 14 kills for Lisbon (4-2, 3-1 Tri-County League). Melissa Browne added six digs and eight blocks, while Ashley Low had 11 kills and eight points, and Stacy Shive had 34 assists.
Crestview (2-2, 2-2) was led by Katie Kibby with eight kills, nine points and 11 blocks. Lindsay Sapp added 25 assists and nine points, while Mariel Montoney had 10 digs, Jamie Jones had seven digs, Stacey McCall had six kills and Michelle Parks had six blocks.

BELOIT -- Ashley Armstrong had eight points and four digs for West Branch (4-2). Kate Bailey added eight points, Amanda Benner had seven blocks, seven passes and four digs, Dena New had seven assists and two saves, and Evelyn Woods had five kills, seven blocks and four digs.
