AUSTINTOWN -- The Youngstown Water Department will shut off the water to homes on Westminster Drive between Maple Drive and North Wickcliffe Circle on Tuesday to allow for waterline work. The water will be shut off from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
After the water is turned on, residents should boil water they use for cooking and drinking. The water should be at a rolling boil for one minute.
The water department will notify residents when the boil order is lifted.
9/11 ceremony planned
CANFIELD -- The public is invited to a 9/11 memorial ceremony at 7 p.m. Thursday at the gazebo on the Green.
The event, sponsored by the Cardinal Joint Fire District, includes a flag presentation by the CJFD Honor Guard, headed by Fred Marcum, and remarks by a local firefighter, policeman and minister.
Benefiting barn owls
PORTERSVILLE, Pa. -- Presentations with the Moraine Preservation Fund and Annie the Barn Owl are available for civic groups, organizations or schools.
The cost is a $50 donation or a commitment to raise mice for Moraine Preservation Fund's Barn Owl Reintroduction program.
