Scouting Expo '03 scheduled at Lake County Fairgrounds

PAINESVILLE -- The Greater Western Reserve Boy Scout Council will have "Scouting Expo '03" from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, located off Mentor Avenue (U.S. Route 20).
The public event, part of a Scout celebration running throughout the weekend, will showcase Scouting in the 21st century through a series of activities and skill demonstrations.
The program is a celebration of 93 years of the Boy Scouts of America and Ohio's Bicentennial. It includes a pioneer encampment, Civil War re-enactors and Pinewood Derby wooden car racing.
The Greater Western Reserve Council serves Scouts in Mahoning, Trumbull, Ashtabula, Portage, Lake and Geauga counties. Admission Sept. 20 is free, but attendees are asked to bring a can of food or a dollar to provide to local food banks.
