SHARON, Pa. -- Brass Taxi, the local band that will perform with the stars during Vocal Group Hall of Fame Induction Concerts on Sept. 17 and 18 at Cafaro Field in Niles, will celebrate the release of a new CD at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the hall of fame, 98 E. State St. Songs on "Standard Fare" reflect the variety of music performed by Brass Taxi, including Big Band, swing, Broadway, Latin, jazz, R & amp;B and country. Storyteller program

Pet, livestock portraits
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- "Eye of the Beholder," an exhibit of pet and livestock portraits by pastel artist Susan Dexter, will be displayed from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the Carousel Building at Cascade Park, Route 65. Admission is free. The display coincides with "Canines in the Cascades," which features a walk, games and contests and live music.
'The Lion King' tickets
PITTSBURGH -- Rise and shine if you want to see the musical "The Lion King" at Benedum Center. Tickets for the six-week run, from Jan. 9 to Feb. 15, will go on sale at 6 a.m. Saturday at the Box Office at Theater Square, 665 Penn Ave. Tickets will be available through the box office only until 9 a.m., when telephone and Internet sales will be accepted. Lee Greenwood concert
BOARDMAN -- Country music singer Lee Greenwood will perform during Boardman Hall of Fame Weekend. Greenwood, who achieved new levels of recognition for his patriotic song "God Bless the USA," will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in Boardman Performing Arts Center at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave. Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced before the concert. Women's art show
YOUNGSTOWN -- Entry deadline is Oct. 1 for "Women Artists: A Celebration," the annual art show by Youngstown YWCA. Women ages 18 and older are eligible. Slides of original works -- including drawings, paintings, graphics, photography, sculpture, fiber, ceramics, metal work and computer-generated art -- must be submitted. Fee is $5 per entry, and the limit is five entries per artist. The show will be judged by Mary Lou Ferbert of Cleveland, who taught at Cleveland Institute of Art. About $1,000 in prizes will be awarded. The show will be on display from Dec. 16 to Jan. 18 at Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave.
