YOUNGSTOWN -- Lauren Bracco scored two goals and Christine Goodfellow added one as Duquesne defeated Youngstown State 3-0 Wednesday at Stambaugh Stadium.
The Dukes outshot the Penguins, 20-8, and outcornered YSU, 9-0.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- A pair of Westminster College student-athletes were named players of the week by the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
Senior men's cross country runner Sean Gallagher captured the men's title at the Westminster Fisher Invitational, covering the 8-kilometer course in 27 minutes, 16 seconds.
Freshman women's soccer forward Sarah Calderone helped the Titans to a second-place finish at the RIT Invitational in Rochester, N.Y. She assisted on both goals in a 2-0 win over Ramapo (N.J.), then led the team with six shots in a 2-0 loss to RIT.
Chaney, Silvidinamed captains
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Three Westminster College football players have been honored with leadership positions and awards entering the 2003 season.
A pair of senior offensive linemen, Jim Chaney and Glenn Silvidi, both of Hubbard, were voted team captains.
Senior fullback Ryan Mitchell of Warren Harding was named recipient of the Harold Burry Award, which is voted on by team members at the conclusion of training camp and is given to the senior football player who best represents the "Titan Tradition" exemplified by former coach Dr. Harold Burry.
Westminster opens the season against Walsh on Saturday.
Ronghi champ oftennis tournament
HUDSON -- Joe Ronghi of Lordstown defeated Steve Nutt of Hudson 6-1, 6-2 to win the men's singles championship of the Hudson tennis tournament.
Ronghi teamed with Mary Meehan of Hudson to win the mixed doubles event.

WARREN -- Gary Robison of Firestone Country Club shot 66-75--141 to win the 2003 Northern Ohio PGA Club Professional Championship at Avalon Lakes.
There were 87 golfers in the field and the top 12 advanced to a tournament in Lincoln, Neb., Sept. 25-28.
Lance Nimmoclaimed by Jets
NEW YORK -- Former Laurel High standout Lance Nimmo was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets.
Nimmo, a 6-foot-5, 303-pound rookie offensive tackle out of West Virginia, was cut last week by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Extradition sought
AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed a warrant seeking the extradition of former Baylor basketball player Carlton Dotson from Maryland.
He is accused of murder in the death of Patrick Dennehy, his former teammate.
