Pizzulo 50th is celebrated at church hall

XGIRARD -- Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Pizzulo Jr. of Girard were honored Aug. 1 at a dinner and reception held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church hall in Youngstown in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the honorees' children and their spouses, Mary and Nick Colacino of Hubbard, Anthony and Sally Pizzulo of Michigan, David and Donna Pizzulo of Georgia, and Andrea and Sean Kratzer and Andrew and Tina Pizzulo, all of Girard. Also participating were the couple's 15 grandchildren.
The former Catherine Moran and Mr. Pizzulo were united in marriage Aug. 1, 1953, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
Mrs. Pizzulo was employed as an account clerk supervisor in the bursar's office at Youngstown State University for 19 years prior to her retirement in 1995. She is a member of the YSU Women Retirees, YSU Retirees Association and Public Employees Retirees Inc.
Her husband retired in 1987 after 32 years' employment as a custodian for Girard Board of Education. He is a member and past deputy grand knight of the Girard Knights of Columbus, and he also belongs to the Tod Park, Niles ITAM and St. Anthony of Struthers boccie leagues.
The couple are members of St. Rose Church.
