The Children's Hunger Alliance is working throughout the state to ensure that all children eat breakfast. Figures here show the number of Ohio children who participated in the National School Lunch, School Breakfast and Summer Food Service programs in 2001-02.
Children participating in lunch programs: 409,000.
Free and reduced-price lunches served: 73.5 million.
Children participating in breakfast programs: 153,000.
Free and reduced-price breakfasts served: 27.4 million.
Children participating in July 2001 summer meal programs: 52,000.
