XAUSTINTOWN -- The exchange of nuptial vows took place during a 4 p.m. ceremony Aug. 1 as Elaine Omodio, 140 Maple Leaf Drive, and Michael Beresni, 3400 Lakeshore Drive, Monroe, Mich., were united in marriage at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
The Rev. Steven Popovich presided for the daughter of Santo and Theresa Omodio, also of 140 Maple Leaf Drive, and the son of Patricia Beresni, 413 Upper Wood Way, Burnsville, Minn.
After a reception at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center in Youngstown, the couple left on a Mediterranean cruise. They live at Woodland Beach, Frenchtown Township, Mich.
The bride, a flight attendant with Continental Airlines based in Newark, N.J., attended Youngstown State University.
The groom graduated from the University of Minnesota and is a pilot in command with Northwest Airlines Jetlink in Detroit.
Embellished with pearls and crystals, the bride's sleeveless gown featured a full skirt and a semicathedral train.
Periwinkle gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Nicole Thomas of Cleveland, and the bridesmaids, Catherine Malicki of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Kimberly Baldwin of Houston.
The groom's brother, Ken Beresni of Shreveport, La., performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were the bride's brother, James Omodio of Austintown, and Eric IIeva of St. Paul, Minn.
