BECKY SHER | Hype Create your own yearbook

Did it seem like you and your friends were nowhere to be found in last year's yearbook? Little Miss Popular's cute face was plastered on Page 2, Page 15, Page 36, Page 67 ... well, let's just say, she was everywhere.
And you were squished into the top corner of the French Club photo, behind the cute exchange student.
This year, things are going to change: If you create your own yearbook, then you get to decide who gets big play, right? Teen People magazine has a new line of back-to-school supplies, and one of the coolest products is the DIY Yearbook, a record of the year's happenings that you create yourself.
The book has room for you to record the year's hottest fashions, note your successes on the soccer field or basketball court, remember the best movies and music of the year, and anything else you want. (And Little Miss Popular doesn't have to be anywhere at all.)
There are stickers to help you title the pages, and plenty of room for everything you need to remember.
Look for the DIY Yearbook at Staples, Borders, Rite-Aid and other stores where you pick up school supplies. The yearbook is about 13 bucks.
Other products in the Teen People line, like notebooks and planners, range in price from $7 to $12.
Down with Mark
If someone asks if you want to meet Mark, we suggest you take them up on it. No, Mark isn't some geeky guy your aunt is trying to set you up with -- it's a new collection of cosmetics just for young women from Avon, a company that knows a little about makeup. That means you might actually want to wear the stuff, and even better, you can actually afford it.
One cool thing about Mark is that you can get involved in the company: Become a Mark representative, and you can hold beauty parties to show off the products to friends. (We hate to say the words "Avon lady," but that's sort of what it is. The hippest, sassiest Avon lady on the block, of course.)
You'll make some money, and even earn college credits by taking the online training program. Not a bad deal.
But what really sold us is the products. Our favorite is Hook-Ups, a dual-ended product that you design yourself. Sure, you've seen double-ended lip glosses before, but if you didn't like one of the colors, tough luck.
With Mark's Hook-Ups, you get to choose, which means you could pair a concealer with a lip gloss, an eyeliner with shimmer powder, and so on. Each component is only $5, and if you buy two, you get the connector free. Imagine the possibilities!
