Last meeting: Boardman won 42-27 last year.
Notebook: After a two-hour rain delay, Chaney got a much-needed win over Uniontown Lake on Friday, 22-15. Quarterback Justin Hood ran for one touchdown and threw for another -- connecting with running back Mike Hall on a 44-yard touchdown pass just before halftime. Hall also had a touchdown run. Boardman, which lost to Lake in its opener, struggled in a loss to Cleveland St. Ignatius. The Spartans fell behind 44-0 at halftime before scoring two late touchdowns in a 51-13 loss. After two road games, the Spartans will hope to rebound at home.

CANTON GLENOAK (1-1)vs. FITCH (1-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Fitch Falcon Stadium.
Last meeting: Fitch won 28-14 last year.
Notebook: Fitch senior Miles Williams ran for 181 yards and three touchdowns and had 58 yards receiving in a 30-27 double-overtime loss to Massillon Jackson. It was the best all-purpose performance since Maurice Clarett totaled 263 yards in a win over Berea in 1998. GlenOak gave up 234 yards rushing to Mentor running back Matt Lieb in a 37-7 loss to the Cardinals. The Golden Eagles managed just 151 yards in the game. Quarterback Brian Hartline had over 100 all-purpose yards in the loss. The Eagles won't have it any easier this week.
LAKEVIEW (2-0)vs. HOWLAND (1-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Lombardo Stadium, Howland.
Last meeting: Howland won 35-14 last year.
Notebook: Howland rebounded from its opening loss to Cleveland Benedictine by routing Girard 41-7. Senior Tony Davis rushed three touchdowns as the Tigers gained 253 yards on the ground. Davis finished with 121 yards. Junior quarterback Brad Lockney was 6 of 8 for 138 yards and a touchdown. Lakeview running back Josh Province ran for 122 yards and three touchdowns as the Bulldogs rallied past Campbell 28-13. Matt Nero added 35 yards rushing and a touchdown for Lakeview. Howland's depth could give the Bulldogs problems.

SALEM (1-1)vs. WEST BRANCH (1-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Clinton Heacock Stadium, Beloit.
Last meeting: West Branch won 34-26 last year.
Notebook: Both teams got much-needed wins last week. Salem rebounded from a stunning loss to Marlington by routing East Palestine 43-0. Zac Grey set a school record with 191 yards receiving on eight receptions, scoring three touchdowns. Quarterback Landon Heath added 248 yards passing. The Warriors, who have not lost to the Quakers since 1998, rallied to beat Canfield 23-14. Quarterback Bobby Swallow had 268 yards passing, including eight passes for 138 yards to wideout Nolan Swetye. It was the first win for new coach Steve Saulnier, who lost to Southeast in the opener.

STRUTHERS (2-0)vs. HUBBARD (2-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Hubbard Eagles Stadium.
Last meeting: Hubbard won 21-6 last year.
Notebook: Both teams have looked very good so far this season. Struthers is coming off big wins over Liberty and Warren JFK. A win on Friday and Wildcat fans could start talking playoffs for the first time since 1999. Struthers quarterback Tim Zetts hit 11 of 19 passes for 165 yards in the 19-7 win over JFK. Dave Allen caught seven passes for 138 yards. Dan Livesay and Justin Penson keyed the ground game, combining for all three touchdown runs. Hubbard, meanwhile, had no trouble in a 54-0 win over Cleveland East. Running back Shaun Lane had 104 yards rushing and two touchdowns and Bryan Boyce added 104 yards passing and two touchdowns. The Eagles' defense has given up just one touchdown this season.

UNITED (2-0)vs. MINERAL RIDGE (1-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Whittaker Field, Mineral Ridge.
Last meeting: United won 21-20 last year.
Notebook: The rain certainly didn't slow down either team's offense last week. Corey Manfull had four catches for 173 yards and three touchdowns as United cruised past Oberlin 57-8. Mitch Phillis added 249 yards passing. After a second-half collapse to Leetonia, the Rams rebounded nicely with a 62-0 rout of Grand Valley. Chris Ault was 8-for-8 passing for 195 yards and four touchdowns. Levi Leigh added two rushing touchdowns.
GIRARD (1-1)vs. WARREN JFK (1-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Mollenkopf Stadium.
Last meeting: Girard won 22-21 last year.
Notebook: This has been one of the area's most exciting rivalries over the past few years and this year should be no different. Both teams will look to rebound after tough losses. After an impressive win over Niles, the Indians' high-powered offense struggled in a blowout loss to Howland. Quarterback Matt Zuppo, who had over 150 yards running and passing against the Tigers, will be counted on heavily against a fast Eagles defense. Anthony Ambeliotis had 96 yards rushing and John DiFiore added 49 yards passing and a touchdown in a loss to Struthers.
