If you've ever thought about turning your gardening hobby into a nursery business, learn from Tony Avent's experience.
Avent is the owner of Plant Delights Nursery in Raleigh, N.C., and the author of "So You Want to Start a Nursery." In the book, he recounts his own hurdles and successes in establishing his nursery and helps others decide whether it's the right business for them.
The book touches on the various tasks involved in running a nursery, but it focuses on the planning and business aspects. Nurseries are often started on a lark and sometimes for the wrong reasons, Avent writes. He wants readers to know what's involved and think through the process.
"So You Want to Start a Nursery" is published by Timber Press Inc. and priced at $24.95.
