Aug. 26
Arrest: A 23-year-old man was arrested behind his Shields Road residence and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Vandalism: Someone did $500 in damage to a window at the Newport Cafe, 4069 Hillman Way.
Forgery: Someone duplicated and forged a payroll check and tried to pass it at Bank One, 380 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Vandalism: A man in the 6700 block of Appleridge Circle alleged a neighbor drove her vehicle through his yard.
Criminal damage: A vehicle had an undetermined amount of damage to its left side while parked at Info Cision, 6951 Southern Blvd.
Theft: A man stole a three-carat diamond ring, a man's wristwatch, three firearms and about $100,000 worth of jewelry, gold coins and currency from an apartment in the 7300 block of East Parkside Drive.
Arrest: A 39-year-old Struthers man was charged with two counts of menacing on a police officer and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Officers alleged he threatened them on California Avenue.
Arrests: After stopping a car for having no taillights, police arrested a girl, 16, and a man, 22, both from Youngstown. They were charged with obstructing official business after officers say the two provided false information about their identities. The girl also was charged with being a runaway; the man also faced a probation violation and weapons charge.
Theft: A Salem woman reported a checkbook cover, an Ohio temporary driver's permit, $30 and a charge card stolen while she was at Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A man reported a woman stole $900, an Ohio identification card and a set of car keys from his room at the Tower Motel, 5235 Market St.
Arrest: Police arrested a Shadyside Drive man, 27, on Southern Boulevard and charged him with telephone harassment.

Theft: Police arrested two 17-year-old Youngstown girls on theft charges after two picture frames were stolen from Claire's Boutiques Inc. in the Southern Park Mall. A third Youngstown girl, 17, was charged with receiving stolen property.
Theft: A woman reported her purse stolen when she was at Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: Police arrested two Youngstown women on theft charges after about $198 worth of clothing was taken from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Bad check: A man reported receiving a $450 check returned on a closed account while he was at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Someone stole $250 worth of lottery tickets from Lucky Lotto, 480 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: Two Youngstown boys, both 14, were charged with theft after an employee at Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road, alleged they each put on a pair of tennis shoes and tried to leave without paying for the items.

Burglary: A 16-year-old Washington Boulevard boy was arrested at his apartment and charged with burglary after a woman in the 6700 block of Lockwood Boulevard reported her residence broken into while she was on vacation. A Nintendo game system, a GameCube and 24 Nintendo games were taken.
Theft: Police arrested two Campbell girls, 12 and 14, on theft charges after a top, a shirt, two pairs of pants and three pairs of jeans were stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A woman reported $70 stolen from her purse while she shopped at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Theft: Forum Health Beeghly Medical Center, 6505 Market St., reported three endoscopic camera heads, worth a total of about $7,000, stolen.
Theft: Someone failed to return a $150 beer tap to Party Max, 445 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A man discovered a hand-held, two-way radio missing from his vehicle parked in a carport at his residence in the 4800 block of Brookwood Road.
Theft: A woman reported her purse and wallet missing from her vehicle parked in the 4900 block of Brookwood Road.
Theft: A woman discovered her wallet missing when she was in the 7100 block of Tiffany Boulevard.

Identity theft: A woman reported someone fraudulently used her personal information to obtain a cellular phone.

Theft: Police arrested an 18-year-old Youngstown man on U.S. Route 224 and charged him with receiving stolen property after an Applewood Boulevard girl reported a bicycle stolen from her front yard.
Theft: An employee at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 280 Mill Creek Blvd., reported a man stole her wallet and $87 while she was at work.
Arrest: A 40-year-old Green Township woman was arrested on East Western Reserve Road on a warrant charging her with domestic violence.
Theft: A man in the 70 block of Lemans Drive reported a wristwatch and a bracelet taken from his apartment.
Arrest: A 40-year-old Youngstown woman was charged with receiving stolen property after someone tried to pass two bad checks totaling $307 at Wal-Mart.
Arrest: Police arrested a 16-year-old Struthers girl on Tippecanoe Road and charged her with obstructing official business. She also was cited on a curfew violation charge.
Drugs: A 19-year-old Youngstown man was arrested at a residence in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court and charged with drug abuse after police alleged he was in possession of a controlled substance. He also was charged with failure to appear in court to face one count each of probation violation and obstructing official business.

Theft: An employee at Airloc Inc., 4404 Lake Park Road, reported 100 six-inch plastic letters missing from a sign posted in front of the business.
Theft: An employee at Market Street Elementary School, 5555 Market St., reported someone broke into her vehicle and removed a purse, two checkbooks, three credit cards and $10.
Identity theft: An Austintown man reported someone cashed a Check at Seven Seventeen Credit Union, 7371 California Ave., using his identity.
Theft: Someone removed a black tote bag, a wallet, a cellular phone, a 35 mm camera, a driver's license and several credit cards from a vehicle parked at Hitchcock Woods II-West Daycare Center, 425 Crestview Drive.
Arrest: A 22-year-old Canfield man was arrested after an undetermined number of packs of cigarettes was stolen from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: Police arrested a 54-year-old Youngstown man on a theft charge after a man's wristwatch, four candy bars, two car air fresheners and a bottle of cologne were stolen from Wal-Mart.
Theft: Police charged a 13-year-old Boardman boy with theft after two Dragon Ball 2 collection card games were stolen from Target, 417 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A man reported a registration sticker was removed from his vehicle parked in the 5000 block of South Avenue.
Aug. 30
Theft: A man reported his garage door opener removed from his vehicle parked at his residence in the 7100 block of Ron Park Place. Also, he reported his wallet and three pieces of jewelry taken from his home.
Theft: A man reported someone tried to break into his apartment in the 10 block of Southwoods Drive, and that an undetermined amount of money was removed from a coin-operated washing machine.
Burglary: An employee at Cigarette Outlet, 6009 South Ave., reported the business was broken into and an unknown number of cartons of cigarettes were stolen. He also discovered damage to some phone lines, a cash register and part of the roof.
Theft: Police arrested a 26-year-old Plainfield, Ind., woman on charges of theft and criminal simulation after $402 worth of women's clothing was stolen from Kohl's, 383 Boardman-Poland Road. Officers also found a counterfeit $100 bill in her possession.
Theft: A woman reported a wallet and $159 stolen from a bench at Shoe Carnival, 550 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: A woman reported an $800 minibike stolen from her garage in the 800 block of Brookfield Avenue.
Criminal damage/assault: A vehicle's driver's-side mirror was damaged in the Value City Department Store parking lot. Also, police reported a man was assaulted in the same area.
Theft: A 60-year-old Warren woman was charged with theft after about $913 worth of clothing was stolen from J.C. Penney's.
Criminal damage: Someone damaged a glass window pane on a door to an apartment in the 4000 block of Hillman Way.
Aug. 31
Arrest: Police arrested a 25-year-old Poland man at Taco Bell, 940 Boardman-Poland Road, and charged him with resisting arrest.
Arrest: A 41-year-old Youngstown man was arrested on Sheridan Road and charged with failure to appear in court to face a charge of having an open container of alcohol.
Arrest: A Melrose Avenue girl, 14, was arrested at her residence on a charge of being an unruly juvenile.
Theft: Police arrested a 36-year-old Youngstown woman on a theft charge after six packs of cigarettes, a socket and a socket wrench were taken from Lowe's, 1100 Doral Drive. Also, a Youngstown woman, 32, was charged with two counts of theft, two counts of obstructing official business and escape.
Assault: A Struthers man reported a man in his 50s assaulted him in the Wal-Mart parking lot. The victim had red marks on both sides of his neck.
Theft: A woman reported a 14-karat gold band, three rings and a clothing case stolen while she was at Bob Evans Restaurant, 7347 California Ave.
Theft: A woman reported $24 removed from her purse while she used a restroom at Target.
Attempted burglary: A woman in the 100 block of Washington Boulevard discovered damage to a 24-inch-by-60-inch window screen.
Sept. 1
Vehicle thefts: A man discovered his 1980 Ford F800 truck taken from a parking lot in the 5500 block of South Avenue without permission. Also, a man reported his 2003 Kubota S250 Turbo Bobcat, and another man reported his Bobcat trailer, taken without permission from the same area.
Theft: Someone stole a $200 power drill from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A woman reported her purse stolen from a parking lot at Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Theft: A New Castle, Pa., woman reported her purse, $600 and two credit cards stolen from a booth at the Old Country Buffet, 387 Boardman-Poland Road.
Criminal damage: A vehicle's passenger-side door window was broken while the car was parked at BW-3 in the Southern Park Mall.
