Safe-driving program
AUSTINTOWN -- The 55 Alive safe-driving program will be offered Friday, Sept. 12 and Sept. 26 at the Mahoning County Board of Health offices, 50 Westchester Drive. The program is a refresher course for experienced drivers ages 50 and older. It's a 12-hour program offered in three half-day segments, and addresses the physical and mental changes that can affect driving and behavior. Those who complete the program may be eligible for an auto insurance premium reduction. For information or to register, call (330) 270-2855, Ext. 131. Class is limited to the first 25 who register.
Annual band show
VIENNA -- The Mathews Music Booster Club's annual band show will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 10. Participating with the host Marching Mustangs will be bands from Western Reserve, Mineral Ridge, Chalker and Campbell Memorial high schools. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for people under 18 or older than 65.
Appalachian storyteller
WARREN -- Donald Davis, a Southern Appalachian storyteller, will perform free at the main branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library at 2 p.m. Sept. 13.
