YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State's record fell to 0-2 with a 2-1 loss to Robert Morris on Sunday.
RMU got on the board when Hilary Nellis scored from 10 yards out.
The Penguins trailed at the half until freshman Maddie Lawther scored her first collegiate goal off a cross from Diane Fellabaum at 51:17 to tie the score.
RMU's Angela Story scored the winning goal for the Colonials late in the match off a pass from Nellis.
RMU outshot YSU 18-10 and outcornered the Penguins 4-1. Junior keeper Mia Railing collected six saves for the YSU.
Youngstown State plays host to Duquesne Wednesday at 7 p.m.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Youngstown State had its three-match winning streak snapped after falling to Syracuse in three games, 25-30, 22-30, 26-30, Sunday at the Western New York Invitational.
Senior Colleen Royer led the Penguins with 11 kills while freshman Cari Leslie smashed eight kills with a .438 hitting percentage. Junior Melanie Pounders added nine kills with six blocks and hit at a .375 clip.
Youngstown State finished with a .204 hitting percentage compared to .202 for Syracuse, but the Penguins fell victim to 11 service aces.
On Saturday, Royer recorded her first double-double of the season with 19 kills and 12 digs and she finished with a .457 hitting percentage to lead the Penguins past Canisius 30-19, 19-30, 30-25, 30-14.
Senior Annie Buschur collected seven blocks and 17 kills while Lori Lyman added 10 kills and eight blocks.
Freshman Cari Leslie added 13 digs for YSU.
The Penguins travel to the New Mexico Tournament Friday and Saturday.
Johnson waivedby Raiders
OAKLAND, Calif -- Former Youngstown State football standout Tim Johnson was waived Sunday by the Oakland Raiders.
Johnson, who was signed in 2001 by the Baltimore Ravens and also played with the Chicago Bears, was on the Raiders roster all of last season, seeing work on special teams. He played in Super Bowl XXXVII against Tampa Bay.
He played two seasons at YSU and was selected as a first-team All-American his senior season in 2000 when the Penguins advanced to the I-AA playoffs.

Canfield wins
CANAL FULTON -- Canfield High's boys soccer team defeated Northwest 2-0 Saturday.
Senior Dave Piersante scored in the first half off an assist by senior Mark Bezy. Scoring in the second half was senior Matt Pietro.
Senior goalie Karim El Raddaf had six saves in the contest that ended with 12:21 on the clock, due to lighting failure.

Fuamatu-Ma'afala among Steelers cuts
PITTSBURGH -- Running back Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala, once a valuable backup to Jerome Bettis, was among six players cut Sunday as the Pittsburgh Steelers reached the 53-man roster limit.
Also released was cornerback and kick returner Hank Poteat, who played extensively in the Steelers' dime defense in the playoffs last season after safety Mike Logan was injured.
The Steelers also cut wide receiver Khori Ivy, who sustained a concussion Aug. 21 against Dallas; rookie free agent running back Dante Brown, fullback J.T. Wall; and defensive lineman David Upchurch. Wall, a seventh-round pick from Georgia, was the only one of the team's five draft picks released.
Defensive end Brett Keisel also was placed on injured reserve and must sit out the season. He underwent shoulder surgery Saturday.

Lions acquire RB
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The running-back depleted Detroit Lions acquired Olandis Gary from the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, giving the team another option for replacing injured starter James Stewart.
Stewart is expected to miss up to six weeks after dislocating his right shoulder in Detroit's preseason finale, a 22-16 loss to Buffalo on Thursday.
