Train hits 12-year-old boy
NEWTON FALLS -- A 12-year-old boy was flown by medical helicopter to Akron Children's Hospital after he was hit by a train Sunday evening.
Sgt. James Zimomra of the city police department said the boy, whose name was not being released, was playing on railroad tracks near Arch Street around 5:40 p.m. when the train ran over him, cutting off the lower part of his left leg.
No further details were available Sunday and the investigation was continuing.
