PREP GIRLS SOCCER Poland rallies to tie Fitch on Malone's late goal, 1-1



Mooney and West Branch also played to a 2-2 deadlock.
POLAND -- Maureen Malone scored a goal as the Poland High girls soccer team earned a 1-1 tie against Austintown Fitch.
Malone's goal came with 17 minutes, 21 seconds remaining.
Brittney Getz put the Falcons (3-0-1) out in front 1-0 on an assist by Kelly Croysdale with 35 minutes remaining.
Poland had 29 shots on goal, compared to 20 for Fitch (2-0-1).
Falcons goalkeeper Kristi Brendlinger made 17 saves. Landry Yankle of the Bulldogs made 14 saves.
Mooney 2, West Branch 2
BELOIT -- Kelly Willis scored a goal as the Cardinals (0-1-1) opened a 2-1 lead at the break.
Abbie Cronin and Paige Stryfeller scored goals and Niki Brown had an assist for the Warriors (3-0-2).
Mooney had more shots, 13-11.
Toledo Notre Dame 3, Hubbard 2
HUBBARD -- Emily Rizzo, Carly Benesh and Katie Mann each scored a goal for Toledo Notre Dame, giving it a 3-0 lead before Hubbard bounced back with a pair of goals.
Hubbard's goals, both in the second half, were delivered by Brittany McKee and Kristen Eli.
Kerri Gramling had one assist for Notre Dame (2-1) while goalkeeper Chrystal Okonta had 11 saves.
Hubbard (1-2) goalie Hope Wright had 11 saves.
Champion 7, Girard 1
GIRARD -- Carlie Dawson scored twice as Champion (3-1) bounced out to a 4-0 lead at the half.
Lindsay Haines, Danielle Basunno, Alyssa Boggess, Jenna Lee and Beth Dawson also scored for Champion.
The Indians got a goal from Krista Kirkpatrick.
Newton Falls 3, Rootstown 0
NEWTON FALLS -- Cassey Piquet, Kortni Collins and Angela Moralas each scored a goal for the Tigers (1-3-2). Heather Martin had two assists and Mary Jo Spletzer had one.
Grace Spletzer, goalie, had four saves. The Rovers keeper Jessica Fitzthum had four saves. Newton Falls had eight shots on goal, compared to four for Rootstown.
