The group includes seven offensive and four defensive starters. Watson is the brother of Stan Watson, the former All-OAC linebacker for MUC who has returned to the team as the linebackers coach. The leader was Matt Campbell, who had 100 stops (29 solos) as a senior. Ludwig contributed 50 tackles (12 solos) to rank No. 11, while McElhaney had 28 (12 solo) for No. 14. Area players: George Theofilos, senior PK from Howland High, who again is competing with Dino Zuzic for the place-kicking job after sharing duties last year. Theofilos tied with Zuzic for No. 4 in scoring on the team last year with 39 points. Theofilos was 3-for-6 in field goals and 30-for-35 in extra points, while Zuzic went 6-for-10 and 21-for-27, respectively. Walker averaged 9.1 yards per punt return and set a B-W record with 35 runbacks last year. OHIO NORTHERN
Area players: Derek Garrod, sophomore RB, Columbiana High; and Matt Kanetsky, senior QB, Hubbard. Garrod was the team's second-leading rusher last season as a freshman with 563 net yards in 81 attempts, for a 7.0-yard average and six TDs. He had a 99-yard YD run against Wilmington that tied the NCAA all-divisions record. Kanetsky is expected to be a third-string backup at QB to senior Jeff Soliday and sophomore Adam Quirk, respectively. Kanetsky had the highest grade-point average on the ONU team last year with a 3.84 as a major in biology and pre-medicine. He made the Academic All-OAC Football First Team. Area players: Anthony Floyd, sophomore DE from Woodrow Wilson, who made 31 tackles last year; and Dave Griswold, junior LB from West Branch. Key area players: Ryan James, a senior outside LB from Kennedy Catholic High, is one of the top returning linebackers on the team. James, one of 14 returning starters and 44 letttermen, led the Gators in tackles last year with 54 on 32 solo stops and 22 assists.

DENISON
Area player: Brian Bishoff, a junior from Howland, is a returning starter who is being converted from wide receiver to cornerback. He is a front-runner for a starting job at cornerback. Last year, he was the Denison's No. 4-leading receiver with 18 catches for 122 yards and one TD and a 6.8-yard average.
WOOSTER
Area player: Ryan Jane, junior CB from East Palestine, is a returning starter. He came up with 29 tackles last season, 26 of them solo stops; and broke up six passes.
OBERLIN
Area player: Andrew Roebuck, OG, Warren Harding, a returning starter.
