PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Pittsburgh Pirates utilityman Rob Mackowiak has been placed in a probationary program for a drunken driving arrest.
Mackowiak, 27, was charged with DUI after police saw him driving the wrong way on a one way street about 3 a.m. on May 23, in the city's Strip District, an area with a number of nightclubs.
Under terms of Friday's plea in Allegheny County Court, Mackowiak will serve six months of probation and have his driver's license suspended for 30 days.
If Mackowiak successfully completes the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program for first time offenders, the conviction won't stay on his record, said his attorney, Robert DelGreco.
Mackowiak's blood alcohol content was measured at .13 percent, above the legal limit of .10 for adult drivers.
