NFL PRESEASON, LATE FRIDAY San Diego routs 49ers in final tuneup
Indianapolis slipped past the Bengals, 21-20.

SAN DIEGO -- If the San Francisco 49ers played a regular-season game like this, they'd be in big trouble.
The 49ers practically served up a free pass on San Diego's opening drive, and rookie Drayton Florence returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to highlight the Chargers' 24-3 win on Friday night.
San Diego's two biggest stars, LaDainian Tomlinson and David Boston, didn't play, and quarterback Drew Brees was in for just one series.
Jeff Garcia, San Francisco's three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, also played just one series.
Trailing 10-3, rookie quarterback Ken Dorsey -- fighting with Brandon Doman for the third-string job -- led the 49ers deep into Chargers territory.
He threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Arland Bruce, but it was called back on an illegal procedure call against tackle Jerome Davis.
On the next play, Dorsey was flushed from the pocket and hit from behind by defensive end Omari Hand as he threw the ball. Florence picked off the wobbler, evaded one tackler, broke a tackle, hit open field at about the 30 and was gone.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts did little right. With the Cincinnati Bengals in town, it wasn't necessary. The Colts scored touchdowns on a kickoff return, interception return and a fumble recovery to beat the Bengals.

DENVER -- Jarious Jackson and Danny Kanell didn't do anything to distinguish themselves. Neither did the Seattle Seahawks.
Mike Anderson and Cecil Sapp scored on 1-yard touchdown runs as the Denver Broncos beat the Seahawks in a sloppy preseason finale. Jason Elam added field goals of 39 and 31 yards for Denver.
