Lightning disrupts water in townships

AUSTINTOWN -- Some customers in the township were without water after lightning struck an Ohio Edison pole on Four Mile Run Road near Crum Road.
The strike knocked out power late Friday to a Youngstown water pump station at Four Mile Run and Webb roads.
The three-hour disruption also affected Canfield Township, said Gene Leson, the city water department's chief engineer.
The power and the pump station were restored to service at about 7 p.m.
Leson said he did not know how many customers were without water.
