HONORED Masons conduct installation during 154th grand session



COLUMBUS -- Gregory S. Snead of Warren was elected and installed as grand master of Masons of the Prince Hall Grand Lodge in Ohio during the 154th annual grand session that took place Aug. 6 in Columbus.
Snead achieved the degree of a Master Mason on June 23, 1979, in the King Solomon Lodge 87, F & amp;AM, Prince Hall, Warren, where he served as worshipful master from 1992 to 1993.
He is a member of Mizpah Chapter 66, Order of Eastern Star, in Warren, and of Excelsior Chapter 39, Royal Arch Masons of Youngstown, having served as excellent high priest from 1994 through 1996.
Snead is also a member of Adoniram Council 1, Royal and Select Masters of Cleveland and Bezaleel Consistory 15, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland, and is an honorary past potentate of El Hasa Temple 26, Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Cleveland. He received the 33rd degree of Masonry on June 3, 1997, in Indianapolis.
He served as associate grand photographer of the Grand Lodge from 1980 to 1995, was appointed as deputy grand lecturer for the 6th Masonic District in 1996, and also served as junior grand warden, senior grand warden and deputy grand master.
Background
A graduate of Hiram College with a degree in education, Snead also graduated from the Ohio Police Officers Training Academy. He retired from Copperweld Steel Co. in Warren, where he was employed as foreman in the shipping and finishing department. He has also worked as a reserve and special deputy for the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department.
He and his wife, Patricia D. Walker Snead, have three children.
He is a member of New Jerusalem Fellowship Church in Warren, a past Cub Scout master of Emerson Pack 29 and a member of Warren G. Harding High School Band Boosters.
