Burglaries in Mercer Co. bring 1 arrest



MERCER, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a rash of business burglaries over the past few days. They have a suspect for one of them.
Derick J. Coulter, 18, of Atlantic, Pa., was arrested after a brief foot chase after police saw a burglary in progress at Pleasant Acres Golf Course on Tower Road in Greene Township about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Coulter remained in Mercer County Jail today on a burglary charge.
Police said someone entered an unlocked shed at Dan Davis Lumber on Poole Road in Jackson Township on Monday night and stole two Jonsered chain saws valued at $850 each.
A chain saw was also the target of a burglar at Fredonia Hardwood Products in Delaware Township. The saw was taken from one of the company's buildings Monday night.
The Western Reserve Fish & amp; Game Club in Lackawannock Township was hit by someone who entered several of its buildings between Sunday and Wednesday.
Shotgun shells and other items were taken, police said.
