BOSTON RED SOX--Declined to exercise the 2004 option on Grady Little, manager.
NEW YORK YANKEES--Added RHP Sam Marsonek to the 40-man roster. Released INF Luis Sojo.
TEXAS RANGERS--Promoted Jon Daniels to director of baseball operations. Agreed to terms with RHP Erik Sabel and RHP Billy Sylvester on minor league contracts.
TORONTO BLUE JAYS--Agreed to terms with C Greg Myers on a one-year contract. Released LHP Doug Creek. Sent RHP Tanyon Sturtze, RHP Corey Thurman, RHP Brian Bowles, RHP Dan Reichert, RHP Mike Smith, LHP Diegomar Markwell and INF Dominic Rich outright to Syracuse of the IL. Announced Thurman, Sturtze, Bowles, Reichert and Markwell refused their assignments and elected to become free agents. Added INF Simon Pond to the 40-man roster.
