AUSTINTOWN -- Police received reports over the weekend that items were stolen from several vehicles in the township, including a report that 250 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen from two trucks at a state Route 46 truck stop.
Also reported stolen were stereos, cash, tools, CDs, and a purse. Windows and door locks were broken on some of the vehicles.
The thefts occurred from vehicles on state Route 46, West Webb Road, Deer Creek, Mahoning Avenue, Woodhurst Drive and Paisley Street.
Police also found three cars were broken into in a South Raccoon Road carport. Nothing was reported stolen from the cars.
Dollar General robbed
YOUNGSTOWN -- After a young man handed $1 to a clerk at Dollar General on Mahoning Avenue late Saturday afternoon to buy snacks, he took about $400 from the register while his accomplice held the clerk from behind, reports show.
One robber ran to a waiting car while the other ran west toward Meridian Road.
Weapons, drug charges
YOUNGSTOWN -- Shane A. Schneider, 23, of Creed Street, Struthers, was arrested early Sunday on Powersdale Avenue on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, using a weapon while intoxicated and possession of marijuana, police said.
As he ran from police and with seven to 10 people yelling that he had a gun, Schenider tossed the weapon, and those in the crowd began fighting one another, reports show.
Once Schneider was placed in a cruiser, Patrick Underwood, 37, of Taft Avenue lunged at him, police said. Underwood was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
Witnesses said a shot was fired but couldn't identify the gunman.
Meeting on zoning
NORTH LIMA -- The Beaver Township Zoning Commission will have a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the township administration building, 11999 South Ave., to discuss amending the township zoning map.
The township areas open for discussion will include the highlands subdivision off Market Street and the Pine Lake region. Information on the map amendments is available for public inspection at the zoning department during regular business hours.
Fund-source program
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County is taking reservations for a grant center cybertour at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 and a grant center basic orientation at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 8, both at the main library, 305 Wick Ave.
Both programs are free and open to representatives of nonprofit organizations seeking information on funding sources and fund-raising.

Girl Scout reunion
NILES -- The Lake to River Council of Girl Scouts is sponsoring a Girl Scout reunion from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 9 at Camp Sugarbush in Kinsman.
Former Girl Scouts are invited to renew old friendships, find out what's new in Girl Scouting and see improvements made at Camp Sugarbush. There will be a campfire with food.
