Red Wings 4, Stars 0
DETROIT -- Dominik Hasek made 23 saves for his first shutout since returning from his one-year retirement, and Steve Yzerman scored twice for Detroit. It was the 62nd shutout of Hasek's career, and Detroit set a franchise record with its 15th consecutive home win. They had 14 straight during the 1964-65 season. Jason Woolley and Kris Draper got the Red Wings' other goals and Henrik Zetterberg had two assists for Detroit. Hasek got a pad on a tip attempt by Don Sweeney after the puck bounced off the post with 9:35 left in the second period and stopped a jam attempt by Bill Guerin from the side of the net and two more Guerin rebounds during a Stars' power play 30 seconds later. Detroit scored twice in less than two minutes early in the second to break a scoreless tie. Woolley opened the scoring at 3:06 when he intercepted a pass from Mike Modano out of the corner and blasted a one-timer past Marty Turco. Yzerman made it 2-0 just 1:57 later on another one-timer. Yzerman, who has four goals this season, got his second of the game by completing a pretty passing play from Zetterberg and Ray Whitney 8:36 into the third period. Yzerman tapped a cross-crease feed from Zetterberg into the empty side of the net. Draper added a shorthanded goal with 2:20 left in the game.
