2 more teens face charges of kidnapping

McDONALD -- More charges have been filed in a case in which a group of people are accused of holding a 14-year-old Girard girl against her will.
Julie L. Gifford, 18, of Youll Street, Niles, and Ami L. Maldonado, 18, of Andrews Street, Campbell, are charged with kidnapping, felonious assault and child endangerment.
Gifford was arraigned Wednesday in Niles Municipal Court and is free on $15,000 bond. Maldonado was to appear in court today.
Four other people face the same charges, all stemming from an Oct. 12 episode in which the Girard girl got into a fight with another girl while visiting at a Parkview Avenue home in McDonald.
The group of people in the residence reportedly wrapped her in plastic wrap and poured water and dish soap over her face.
The girl chewed herself free from the wrap and was treated for minor injuries.
