Western Reserve and Windham advance



LISBON -- Unseeded Western Reserve defeated Lordstown 5-15, 18-16, 15-12, and will play Windham for the Division IV district volleyball championship Thursday at Lisbon High.
Rachael Hernan scored 10 points, while Katie Harmon had 20 assists for Western Reserve (13-12). Lindsey Wentzel had 15 digs and two aces, while Sara Kutsko had five blocks and 10 kills and Andrea Hernan had 10 points.
For Lordstown (21-3), the second seed, Alycia Israel had 22 points, 13 assists and 40 sets. Christa Israel added 11 kills and Janelle Beaver had five blocks, 11 kills and two aces.
Windham (23-1), the No. 1 seed, defeated Jackson-Milton 15-8, 15-3.
Rachel Karash had five points and two aces for the Bluejays (13-11), while Megan Whitmer had eight assists and 21 sets, and Lacie Campbell had five kills and four blocks.
Windham was led by Erika Cline, with seven points.
