Game change
BOARDMAN -- The Boardman-Cardinal Mooney freshman football game Thursday has been moved to 7:30 p.m. at the Spartans' stadium. It was originally scheduled for 4:30.
Tamer Win scramble
CORTLAND -- The team of Rokki Rogan, Jack Pico and Corky Kline posted a score of 60 to win the Tamer Win 3-Person Harvest Golf Scramble Sunday.
Second place went to the team of Mike Dailey, Clark Post and Joe Tomko, who won a scorecard playoff with Vince Santangelo, Mike Wasser and Frank Quartini. Each team posted 62s.
Finishing fourth and also winning a scorecard playoff was the team of Ed Antonelli, George Allen and Randy Martini with a 63. They edged out the team of Corky Stein, Gary Williams and John Stein.
Special prize winners were Corky Stein, Gary Williams, John Stein, Rokki Rogan, Jack Pico and Corky Kline.
Westminstersoccer awards
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- A pair of Westminster College soccer standouts player of the week honors from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
Senior forward Matt Roser (Kingwood, Texas) was PAC men's player of the week. He led the Titans to two wins, scoring once and assisting on a goal in a 2-1 win over Bethany and scoring the only goal in a win over Thiel.
Roser broke the school record for career goals in the process.
Senior midfielder Alyssa Pyle (Sewickley, Pa.) was PAC women's player of the week, scoring five goals and two assists in two wins.
Acs, Penza run
Chris Acs of Niles and Matt Penza of Girard competed at the Pre-National Cross Country meet in Waterloo, Iowa Oct. 18.
Acs ran the 8k course in 24 minutes, 21 seconds, for the Air Force Academy in the men's Purple Division. The team finished in fourth place.
Penza ran a personal best time of 24:20 for Ohio State Buckeyes in the Gold Division, for a third-place team finish.
Ohio State is ranked seventh and Air Force is ranked ninth in the latest Division I poll.

Jamie Moyer winsClemente award
MIAMI -- Seattle Mariners pitcher Jamie Moyer won the Roberto Clemente Award for excellence on the field and in the community. Each major league team nominates a player for the Clemente Award, and the winner is selected by a committee that includes commissioner Bud Selig and Vera Clemente, Roberto's wife.
Hearing scheduled
BOSTON -- A hearing Nov. 7 will determine whether Yankees reliever Jeff Nelson and right fielder Karim Garcia should be charged with beating a Fenway Park worker.
Police filed paperwork in Roxbury District Court requesting the hearing. Nelson and Garcia can appear to counter accusations by Paul Williams, a 24-year-old part-time groundskeeper. The two Yankees and Williams got into a fight during Game 3 of the AL championship.
McNair caseto grand jury
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Steve McNair's case on drunken driving and weapons charges will go to a grand jury. Judge Leon Ruben ruled that there was sufficient evidence for the case against the Tennessee Titans' quarterback to move forward. The grand jury could convene in four to five weeks, according to the district attorney's office.
Beuerlein puton injured reserve
DENVER -- The Denver Broncos placed quarterback Steve Beuerlein on injured reserve, a move that could mark the end of his 17-year career.
'Skins hire Bugel
ASHBURN, Va. -- Former Washington Redskins assistant Joe Bugel rejoined the team as an offensive consultant. Bugel, who coached the Redskins offensive line in the 1980s when the team won two Super Bowls, will review tapes and offer feedback.

* Eric Lindros will be out two to four weeks after injuring his left shoulder during the New York Rangers' victory over the Florida Panthers. Lindros has a sprain in the area where the shoulder and collarbone meet the chest.
* Calgary Flames goaltender Roman Turek will miss two to four weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
Brack transferred
DALLAS -- Kenny Brack was transferred from a Dallas hospital to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he will begin rehabilitation for injuries sustained in a horrific crash in Texas. Dr. Henry Bock, the Indy Racing League medical director, said Brack remains in satisfactory condition. Brack had been hospitalized in Dallas since Oct. 12.
Unser released
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr. was released from a hospital after undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident.
Unser had been at University of New Mexico Hospital since breaking his pelvis in an accident Sunday.
