UActors from various horror films will gather at "Hollyweird at Hollywood" from 5 to 10 p.m. at Hollywood Video, 2200 Niles-Cortland Road (state Route 46), Niles. Horror film connoisseurs may recognize the names of Conrad Brooks, who appeared in the Ed Wood film "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and Tim Burton's more recent film titled "Ed Wood"; Joe Shelby, who appeared in "Dawn of the Dead," which was George Romero's sequel to "Night of the Living Dead"; and Stacey Sparks from "Vamps" and "Evil Ambitions." Admission is free; merchandise will be for sale; and there will be a fee for autographs. Westminster College Jazz Ensemble offers a "Jazz and Java" concert at 7:30 in the school's new McKelvey Student Center Lounge, New Wilmington, Pa. Both the entertainment and the coffee are free. UThe movie "Steel Magnolias," which starred Sally Field and Julia Roberts, has its roots in the theater. It's opening at 8 p.m. at New Castle Playhouse Annex Theater, 202 E. Long Ave., New Castle, Pa. There's laughter and tears as these Southern ladies and friends gather in a beauty parlor to exchange gossip and ruminate about their lives. It's the first film in which John Barrymore starred, and it features a musical score by Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra. Admission is free. Reservations are not required.

UCar enthusiasts are invited to a Halloween Cruise from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Chi-Chi's, 3101 E. State St., Hermitage, Pa. Children are encouraged to trick-or-treat among the cars as a DJ plays music. Car owners will compete for door prizes and trophies. The restaurant will have food and drink specials.
