BIG EAST Va. Tech challenges W. Virginia tonight

The Hokies have scored at least 35 points in every game.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia has been trying to figure out a way to play well at home.
It won't be easy tonight against No. 3 Virginia Tech.
West Virginia (2-4, 1-1 Big East) has dropped two straight to the Hokies at home and has won just once in three tries at Mountaineer Field this season -- a lackluster victory over Rutgers two weeks ago.
The passing game has managed just one 200-yard performance, and the running attack has been inconsistent.
The Hokies (6-0, 2-0) could put West Virginia closer to spending the holidays at home.
Preparation
"I've been saying for a long time it's going to be a big mental thing, a big focus game," West Virginia quarterback Rasheed Marshall said. "We need to come out focused and mentally prepared. That will probably dictate how the offense performs."
Last year, Marshall broke Michael Vick's Big East record for rushing by a quarterback with 666 yards, but he's run for just 138 yards this season and has completed only 47 percent of his passes.
"We haven't really gotten him loose yet running the ball. We kind of expect teams to box him in. I would expect Tech to do the same thing," West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez said.
"I think the biggest key for Rasheed, maybe, is when they are bringing the all-out blitz or giving us a lot of guys in the box, we've got to hit some of those passes. He can make all the throws. We've just got to get it to them."
West Virginia had the nation's No. 2 rushing game a year ago and gained 263 yards on the ground in a 21-18 win over Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Quincy Wilson ran for 125 yards on just 11 carries, including a 42-yard touchdown run.
"They were a young team last year," Wilson said. "I remember saying how they were a year away. And now all those guys are back and they look very good. They haven't had a close game yet."
Wilson is coming off a season-high 177 yards and three TDs against Rutgers on Oct. 11. His 40 carries were a career high and the fourth-highest in school history.
"We're going to ride that horse as long as we can," Rodriguez said.
Tech's plans
Virginia Tech plans to have plenty of players on Wilson's back.
"It's tough to bring him down with one guy. You better have help coming," Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer said.
The game is the second of four straight against teams that beat the Hokies last season.
On Nov. 1, Virginia Tech will play at home against No. 2 Miami. The outcome could help decide one of two spots in the national championship game, the Sugar Bowl Jan. 4.
"We just can't let nobody knock us off right now," said running back Kevin Jones, who can become the first Hokies player in the modern era to rush for 100 yards in five straight games.
Virginia Tech has scored at least 35 points in every game.
