YOUNGSTOWN | Charter amendments



Youngstown residents will vote Nov. 4 on six amendments to the city charter. They are:
To provide that the mayor shall be an elector and resident of the city for the five years immediately preceding his election.
To provide that a councilman shall be not less than 21 years of age (currently 25).
To provide that all meetings of council or council committees shall be public unless an executive session is held for a reason permitted by the Ohio Revised Code.
To provide that the mayor, law director and finance director shall receive their salaries in equal biweekly installments (instead of monthly).
To delete references to "lands surrounding Milton Reservoir."
To delete gender-specific terminology and replace it with nongender-specific terminology.
