Bessemer & amp; Lake Erieis sold to CN Railway
MONROEVILLE, Pa. -- The Bessemer & amp; Lake Erie Railroad Co., which runs through Mercer and Lawrence counties, has been sold by Great Lakes Transportation to the Canadian National Railway.
The Canadian company said Monday that it bought two railroads and some Great Lakes ships for $500 million (Canadian) to take over the delivery of iron ore from Minnesota to steel mills in the Pittsburgh area.
