Man who was questioned is found dead

A 12-gauge shotgun was found on the floor near the young man.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 19-year-old man questioned over the weekend about the beating death of an elderly South Side woman apparently committed suicide, police said.
Police found Dustin Anzevino dead on a bed at his brother's 1653 Everett Ave. house around 2:10 p.m. Monday, with a gunshot wound to his chest. Police found a 12-gauge shotgun on the floor next to Anzevino.
Anzevino was among those who had attended a birthday party Friday night at 3515 Belden Ave., next door to where Helen Koscak, 86, lived alone. Koscak was found in her bed Saturday afternoon, bludgeoned to death.
Neighbors in the typically quiet Brownlee Woods section of the city have expressed fear since the crime.
Anzevino and another young man were questioned Saturday about the homicide, police said. Detectives have been systematically interviewing all the party-goers.
On Monday, Anzevino's mother, Linda, who lives at 1681 Everett, told police that her son had not appeared depressed but was stressed about a pending court appearance this week on a menacing charge. She said he had spent all of Sunday in his room.
Anzevino's mother said she last saw him at 11 p.m. Sunday.
Got ride home
The mother said her son had walked to the birthday party on Belden and was picked up at 1:30 a.m. from the driveway, reports show. It wasn't immediately clear who gave Anzevino a ride home.
Entry into Koscak's house was made through a side kitchen door.
Two rotary phones were taken then dropped in a rear yard, police said. Scattered change and Koscak's wallet were found on the kitchen floor.
Police also collected as evidence a beer can near Koscak's rear porch.
The young man who hosted the party Friday night told police he heard noises in the leaves behind Koscak's house and saw a man walking away. No time was listed for the sighting and no call was made to police.
Lt. Robin Lees has said he hopes the crime lab will find fingerprints on the rotary phones.
