JOHN BASSETTI Bowling Chicase is named District 10 director
Andy Chicase Jr. was named the new District 10 director for the Ohio State Bowling Association recently.
Chicase was nominated by the Youngstown Bowling Association in April. He's been with the YBA for over 20 years.
The YBA has also made available entry forms for its 16th annual Youngstown Masters Tournament.
The event is co-sponsored by Bell-Wick Bowl, Amron Lanes, A-Plus Family Bowl and Wedgewood Lanes.
Top prize is $1,000 (based on 60 entries). The tournament starts Nov. 7 at Bell-Wick, continues Nov. 8 at Amron and A-Plus and concludes Nov. 9 at Wedgewood.

Berquist has ninth 300
Art Berquist had his ninth career 300 game and first 800 series of 858 in Lucianno's Men at Wedgewood on Oct. 13. His second and third games were 279s.
Bob Eckenrode had 299-835, Don Morrison 300, Ken Hays 299 and Jim Wolcott 290 in Austintown Township-UAW 1112 Men at Austintown on Oct. 8.
Three 300s were thrown on a single night in a recent session of Charlie's Service/Dr. Ferkula Chiropractic at Holiday.
Gary Laurie Jr., Joe Calabrette and Ryan Cene tossed the perfect games, league secretary Nick Amendola reported.
Ray Helminiak's 300 was tops in Shooting Gallery at Holiday while Brian Shambaugh had 300 in Outdoorsmen at Camelot on Oct. 14.
Randy Harper had 300 in Kelley-Robb Classic at Bell-Wick on Oct. 9, John Doughton Jr. had 300 in Spiech Classic at Bell-Wick on Oct. 13 and Jim Dodge and Chris Judd rolled 300s in Max Belchyk Classic at Holiday on Oct. 2.
Two 300s at Boardman
A pair of 300s came at Boardman Lanes where John Larson had 300 in Longhorn Steakhouse while Tom Timlin II had his first perfect game in Dr. John's Auto Clinic.
Mitch Ingles Jr. had 299 in Kernan Insurance Classic at West Side.
Bill Moxley's 298 was high among G.E. Mixed bowlers at Wedgewood on Oct. 6, Bob Vukovich Sr. had Max Belchyk's third-highest single of 297 and Rick Mayhew had 290 in Tri-County Classic at Holiday on Oct. 7.
Jenn Mellott's 739 paced Wedgewood Ladies Trio bowlers on Oct. 14, when Fran Taylor had the night's highest game of 269 and second-highest three-game set of 729.
Annie Bartoletti had 276-730 in Saturday Night Mixed at Kay on Oct. 4.
Dave Ellis was the Wedgewood Juniors/Majors leader with 267-702, while Frank Mineo also had 267 on Oct. 11.
Jennifer Wojtowicz missed a 155 triplicate by one when she rolled 156 during her middle game in KLS Doubles at Amron on Oct. 7.
Margaret Palermo missed a 139 triplicate by one Oct. 6 when she had 138 in the second game of Golden Gals Trio action at Wedgewood.
Pro tourney billed
A-Plus Family Bowl will be the site of a Professional Women's Bowling Association Northeast Region event the weekend of Oct. 24.
Entry fee for the pro-am is $40 for adults and $25 for youth bowlers.
The pro-am will be a Women's International Bowling Congress "Bowl for the Cure" charity event. All admissions collected, plus proceeds from raffles, will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Pro-am entry forms may be obtained at local centers or by calling A-Plus at 792-2173. A-Plus proprietors Chuck and Nancy Fairchild are PWBA Northeast Region directors.
