GROVE CITY, Pa. -- There will be temporary lane closings and restrictions during the day Monday through Friday on Interstates 79 and 80 at their intersection in Mercer County. PennDot said motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes to avoid going through the construction zone on I-79 south of I-80.
Meeting for caregivers
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A group for grandparents and other relatives rearing children will meet at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Challenges, Options on Aging, 2706 Mercer Road. The meeting topic is understanding children's behaviors. Dinner will be provided. Registration is required by calling (724) 598-5109 and leaving a message on the answering machine by noon Friday.
The group is sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension in Lawrence County and Challenges, Options in Aging. This program is free. There will be activities for children.
Crohn's and colitis group
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- The Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia Chapter of the Crohn's & amp; Colitis Foundation of America will have the first meeting of a Sharon Area Support Group from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the UPMC Womancare Center on Pa. Route 18. The purpose of a support group is to provide participants with an opportunity to meet with others who have similar health concerns to discuss coping with inflammatory bowel disease.
Temporary lane closures
RAVENNA -- Ohio Department of Transportation has announced lane closures in two Mahoning County locations effective Monday. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Interstate 76 bridge over Lake Milton will be reduced to one westbound lane as the bridge replacement project there nears completion.
Beginning Monday and for about three weeks, the southbound lane of state Route 7 between state Routes 164 and 165 in North Lima will be closed, and southbound traffic will use a posted detour during the intersection widening project.
Annual birdseed sale
WARREN -- Trumbull Area Multipurpose Environmental Education Laboratory is having its annual birdseed sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 and Jan. 24 at Howland Park. Prices range from $1.75 for suet cake to $14.50 for a 50-pound bag of black oil sunflower seed.
