DALLAS -- Jason Arnott had a goal and an assist, and Philippe Boucher and Bill Guerin each scored second-period goals as the Dallas Stars beat the Washington Capitals .
Boucher's goal broke a 2-all tie and gave the Stars the lead for good. Guerin followed with a score four minutes later.
Washington goaltender Olaf Kolzig is 0-8-1 lifetime against Dallas. The Stars scored on four of their first nine shots against Kolzig, who stopped 14 of 18.
Scott Young and Arnott scored in the first as Dallas took a 2-1 lead. Dallas' Brendan Morrow had two assists.
Matt Pettinger and Robert Lang had goals for the Capitals, who are winless in four games since beating the New York Islanders in their opener.
Dallas' Marty Turco stopped 23 of 25 shots against him, including all seven against him in the third to keep the Stars ahead.
Lang scored early in the second to tie the game at 2. He has a point in each of the Capitals' first five games.
Boucher's goal midway through the second period gave the Dallas a 3-2 lead with 8:10 remaining.
Boucher stole the puck from Mike Grier near center ice and then capped the play with a goal from the slot off a pass from Mike Modano.
