Notebook: The Eagles' 1991 state championship came during a prominent era for the football program. They qualified for the playoffs five times during the 1980s, and their '91 appearance was part of a seven-year streak of making the postseason. The Eagles returned to the championship game in 1992, but they lost to Cincinnati Academy of Physical Education, 17-16. ... Coach Dennis Zolciak, whom Napolet replaced for the '91 season, is back on the Eagles' staff, under Napolet. ... McNeil, 29, went on to become an All-American at Westminster College, where he won a national championship while playing receiver and kicker. He teaches social studies at JFK while coaching varsity track and freshman football.
