SLIPPERY ROCK Program explores the world of the bat

SLIPPERY ROCK -- Explore the world of the bat at Jennings Environmental Education Center at 7 p.m. Oct. 26. Bats have long been misunderstood, maligned and considered one of the more frightful creatures of the night.
During an indoor introduction, discover the truth about these amazing animals and the benefits they provide as valuable insectivores, as well as how to provide optional roosting sites while excluding bats from your home.
The program will conclude with a venture into the nighttime forest to gain a new appreciation for the adaptations of bats and other nocturnal creatures.
Jennings is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. The trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset for hiking and other environmentally related activities.
