AUSTINTOWN -- Two airline tickets and other door prizes will be awarded after a one-hour open house and tour of Austintown Middle School at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The airline tickets, compliments of AAA Travel and Continental Airlines, are good for any destination in the continental United States. The event is open to all Austintown residents.
National security talk
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Army Col. Kenneth D. Chrosniak from the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will address the topic of national security during a visit to the Grove City College campus.
Chrosniak, a Grove City native, will first speak in Dr. Earl Tilford's national security class at 2 p.m. Nov. 10 on topics ranging from Operation Iraqi Freedom to the war on terror.
He will speak from 7 to 8:30 p.m. that same day in the Technological Learning Center auditorium, where he will share a multimedia presentation. That program is free.
City to offer flu shots
GIRARD --The city health department is offering flu shots to residents 50 and older and those with high-risk medical conditions.
There are no appointments to get the vaccine from 2 to 4 p.m. at the health department in city hall. The cost is $10. The schedule is based on the first letter of the last name: A to F, Tuesday and Oct. 27; G to L , Wednesday and Oct. 28; M to R, Thursday and Oct. 29; and S to Z, Friday and Oct. 30.
