XELLSWORTH -- Nuptial vows were exchanged in the presence of the Rev. Ray Morrison as Erica E. Carpenter and Gary W. Utterback during a 2 p.m. ceremony Sept. 13 at Ellsworth Presbyterian Church. The daughter of Susan K. Young, 11265 Ellsworth Road, and the late David R. Carpenter, and the son of Guy and Beth Utterback, 1144 N. Market St., Jefferson, were honored afterward during a reception at The Georgetown, Boardman.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, they live at 5706 North Winds Drive, Mentor.
The bride's ivory gown featured rum pink accents, beading on the bodice and at the hemline, and a chapel train.
Bordeaux-colored gowns were worn the honor attendant, Sarah Strauss, and the bridesmaids, Leta Lenhart, sister of the bride; Kari Utterback, the groom's sister; Heather Roessler; Gretchen Chuey; and Marcy Airato. The flower girl was McKenzie Yeager in an ivory gown.
Shawn Dougherty was best man, and groomsmen were Stephen and Andrew Lenhart, brothers of the bride; Kevin Goodman; Todd Makrucki; and Stan Sikora; Ring bearer was Elliott Didur.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in biology. She is employed by Adoption Network in Cleveland as an Ohio Child Welfare Training Program liaison.
The groom, a design engineer with General Electric Corp. in Cleveland, holds a master's degree in engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland.
